Herman Van Rompuy, the Belgian PM, could become the EU’s first president of the European Council. Newspapers report he’s the only contender whose candidature was not rejected by any member state.
I don’t know what is Van Rompuy’s view on this high-powered job. What I remember very well, however, is that it wasn’t all that easy to convince him to become Belgium’s prime minister. Being the only “compromise candidate”, he agreed (or rather: was forced) to take the job in the climate of a deep political crisis.
The European Council needs a president able to find a consensus among the European leaders and Van Rompuy’s political career n Belgium undoubtedly equipped him with consensus-building skills. He’s also said to be a very intelligent and friendly person…

Go go go for Van Rompuy!!
So now we know, Mr Van Rompuy is now officially to become el Presidente. A committed Federalist, who will soon be told in no uncertain term that now is not the time for federation and the democracy that that would impose on the whole fraud. He also wants the EU to be able to gather it’s own taxes, he has suggested either a tax on financial transactions, which has already been laughed out of the debate when Gordon Mc Traitor mentioned it, or through a green tax, which all the greedy governments will want for themselves. He say he wants the money to pay for welfare, welfare for whom, is social security not the remit of the member statelets, or is he going to pay the Grand Fraud’s multitute of EU organized immigrants from a central fund, to lie about, scratch themselves and breed? The man should shut his stupid mouth and learn to do as he is told, he is only a nodding dog for the council and should just take the ridiculous pay and perks like the rest and yap off the sound bytes he is told to.
I see he is still awaiting a Congratulations on getting the job card from Obummer.
